The first Phab project began in 1957, and for nearly 60 years, the charity has encouraged and supported children and adults with and without disabilities to make more of life and come together on equal terms. There are over 170 Phab clubs with 8,000 members in all age ranges from under eights to over 80s, right across England and Wales. Richard praises the charity for helping disabled children and young adults like his brother with its adventurous activities and camps.
He says: "It's an amazing charity that I'm so proud to have been chosen to represent. We all have personal stories of both the young and old being affected by disabilities and you can't help but be moved and touched by the stories of resilience and love from beneficiaries of the charity.
“It is a big fund-raising target I'm aiming for but this will make a huge difference. Any amount, no matter how small, will mean the world to me personally and to the charity. Together, I know we can smash the target and then it’s just down to on me to deliver on the running!" |
